The AECB are delighted to be in collaboration with TUDublin to offer you a professional level academic CPD course on Energy Modelling Tools using PHPP.
The CPD Certificate in Building Energy Modelling using PHPP module is designed to enable experienced building design professionals to develop and apply an understanding of the international Passive House Planning Pack (PHPP) modelling and design tool when exploring the building performance of existing and new buildings, whether residential or non-residential, in temperate climatic zones such as Ireland or the UK.
Successful completion of the course will earn you 50 credit points towards your PHI certificate renewal.
Programme
The course teaches students how to apply the PHPP design tool to estimate operational energy consumption of a building design, and facilitates their development of skills to optimise geometry, fabric, and services installations to achieve the Passive House Classic Standard. On Completion of this course you will be able to:
- Appraise the Passive House Standard and PHPP as an energy analysis tool.
- Critically apply the PHPP tool in the energy analysis of the geometry and fabric of a conventional Irish building with typical forms and construction.
- Critically apply the PHPP tool in the selection of building services and plant for the provision of heating, cooling and hot water in an Irish building of typical construction.
- Apply the PHPP design tool at a professional level to optimise the design of a building to Passive House Standard.
