Estate Retrofit Toolkit Launch
| Date: Thursday 09 July, 2026 | Time: 13:00 - 14:00 |
| Location: Online | Cost: Free |

The Passivhaus Trust is pleased to support the industry launch of the Estate Retrofit Toolkit, a new, easy-to-use tool that will be freely available to local authorities.
Join us online on Thursday, 9 July, 1–2pm (BST) for the launch event.
Jointly funded by the Passivhaus Trust, Hub East Central Scotland and the City of Edinburgh Council, this practical tool has been designed by Architype's consultancy arm, Perform+, to support estate managers in Scotland looking to decarbonise non-domestic portfolios.
The session will include a live walkthrough of the tool, alongside early learning from its development. We will also be inviting interest from organisations in England and Wales to help shape future versions.
The tool is free to use and built to be simple. With minimal inputs, it produces clear outputs to support decision-making, including:
- Operational energy, cost and carbon
- Indicative construction costs through to 2045
- Suggested retrofit pathways based on building type and condition
A short set of questions helps group buildings into these pathways, making it easier to decide where to invest, how far to go, and when to act.
The tool has been developed in Excel to fit with existing data sources and day-to-day use, with costing input from Currie & Brown and peer review from NARRO and Harley Haddow. It has already been tested with a number of local authorities and is now ready to support estate decarbonisation in practice.
