Gresford Architects are based in London and Oxford and seek to create buildings that are thoughtful, practical, sustainable and beautiful. We are interested in how spaces (and the buildings that create them) make us feel; how every decision that goes into creating a space – the materiality (surfaces, joints, planes, textures), the positioning of the windows and doors, of lighting and heating – must be carefully considered to allow the perfect marriage of the poetic and the practical. We have a fundamental belief in the importance of building in a sustainable manner, so that the buildings we create last for generations, are efficient in their use of materials and energy (in both construction and use) and are comfortable and pleasant places to be. We have a Certified Passivhaus Designer among our staff and will soon be recognised as a Certified Passivhaus Designer as a practice. We believe that the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) is a tool that should be used to help design and inform the creation of new buildings from the outset, and encourage our clients to see the long term benefits of the early adoption of PHPP modelling on their projects. We also work with a wide range of experienced Passivhaus consultants, contractors and subcontractors, and can thus help our clients put together the right team to deliver their projects.
