We are delighted to announce that PHT Patron member Morrison Construction is a Silver sponsor of the UK Passivhaus Conference 2023. Read our Conference Q&A with Morrison Construction below.

What Passivhaus services does your company offer?
As a large tier 1 contractor, part of the Galliford Try Group, Morrison Construction has a developing portfolio of Passivhaus projects, from our completed early years centre at Blackridge for West Lothian Council, to our two primary schools, Maybury Primary and Faifley Campus and secondary school in Paisley, and to our largest Passivhaus project for the National Galleries of Scotland that will be a purpose-built archive centre. We are also in the process of developing our first Enerphit project for Historic Environment Scotland to convert an existing warehouse into an Archive House.

We are delighted to sponsor the 2023 UK Passivhaus Conference. Over the last few years, we have invested in our knowledge and understanding of Passivhaus principles to deliver low carbon. Having demonstrated several exemplar projects, we look forward to sharing our experiences with others as we work towards net zero.

Why are you sponsoring the UK Passivhaus Conference 2023?
In addition to the Passivhaus projects currently being developed, as a company we have invested heavily in upskilling our staff in Passivhaus, and also working with our supply chain through our Net Zero Partners programme to assist their journey, and creating industry partnerships such as our work with Built Environment – Smarter Transformation (BE-ST). Supporting the Passivhaus conference is a natural progression of this commitment and we hope to continue to support the Passivhaus Trust moving forward.
What is your favourite Passivhaus project?
St Sidwell's Point, Exeter
Exeter City Council's St Sidwell's Point project, that was completed last year, demonstrated that even with a complex form and structure, consisting of multiple structural materials, that a Passivhaus building can be constructed. It is important that the industry continues to learn from each other and share success, and failures, to continue to progressively develop solutions that can both enable amazing buildings to be built and to offer value for money to our clients.
What are you looking forward to at the Conference?
Sharing our experiences with others and hearing how Passivhaus is being applied in all sectors across Scotland.
