How to create a great Passivhaus awards entry?
The deadline to submit your entry to the 2020 UK Passivhaus Awards is the 30th of April. Download the submission templates and guidance notes, and check out the previous award finalists for inspiration.
As the UK Passivhaus awards deadline approaches, follow these five simple steps for a great awards submission and to improve your chances of getting shortlisted as a finalist.
5 tips to a great awards entry
1. Start earlyAllow plenty of time to complete your submission before the deadline, and check . Entries received early will be reviewed by PHT and allow us to flag up any further requirements prior to judging day. If the project is on the International Passivhaus projects database please provide the project ID number.
2. Prove it worksInclude measured performance data and analysis, ideally across a whole year to show both summer and winter performance. Demonstrate & explain measurable results against specific Passivhaus criteria and design objectives. Links to press articles are welcome.
3. Convince us it's exemplarWe are seeking the best of the best, and merely meeting Passivhaus criteria is not enough! What is the biggest achievement or unique selling point of your scheme? Clearly explain what is pioneering or innovative about your entry, or the scale of the challenges that had to be overcome? What is the social impact and importance to the wider industry?
4. Happy usersProvide evidence of user satisfaction. How did you meet or exceed client expectations? Testimonials from occupants and those involved in the process can provide valuable insight.
5. Communicate clearlyThink about which visuals bring your entry to life. Photos, infographics & graphs are invaluable to the submission and they may be used to represent your entry at the awards ceremony and in the winners' supplement, should your entry be successful.
