Mark Elton to judge the 2014 Passive House Awards

UK's Mark Elton from sustainable BY design will be on the panel of the jury of the 2014 Passive House Awards. He will be joined by Prof. Wolfgang Feist, Helmut Krapmeier and other international Passivhaus experts.

The 2014 Passive House Award promotes projects that take an energy efficiency first approach to building, supplemented by renewable energies. A competition organised by the Passivhaus Institut within the EU funded project PassREg (Passivhaus Regions with Renewable Energies), the 2014 Passive House Award recognises innovative projects demonstrating the great potential and versatility offered by Passivhaus solutions.

Entries are now being sought for each of the two main categories, 'Individual buildings' and 'Regions & neighbourhoods'. One Award winner as well as a number of Special Recognitions will be selected from each category. 

The jury will give special consideration to entries demonstrating high levels of cost-effectiveness in relation to typical construction costs for the respective area, outstanding architectural design, the surpassing of challenging conditions, ie: particularly difficult climates, regulatory/financial hurdles, etc. among other criteria
