Hastoe deliver residential Passivhaus schemes across East & South East.
Rural housing specialists Hastoe Housing Association have completed two Passivhaus schemes, Wimbish in Essex, & Ditchingham in Norfolk. They can reveal a further four developments planned for 2014.
Drawing from previous experience of successful Passivhaus delivery Hastoe will implement an exhaustive process to find appropriate contractors, involve the local authority and community at and early stage and provide post occupancy support to inform tenants how to use the building effectively.
The four new projects were developed with support from the Homes and Communities Agency. They are rural exception sites where fuel poverty is a big issue. Kevin Hartnett, Hastoe Business Development Director says “we deliver homes that people can afford, we invest in people and communities and we are in it for the long-term.”
Hatfield Heath, Essex:
- 13 homes for rent, 1 for shared ownership.
- Built with insulated render and oak cladding.
- Buildings arranged around a central open space.
Horseheath, Cambridgeshire:
- 3 rental units
- Built on land received free from the LA, whom will also part fund the development.
Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk:
- 5 rental units & open market dwelling
- In area of outstanding natural beauty and conservation area, design reflects context with flint, clunch, red brick and clay pantiles
Outwell, Norfolk:
- 13 rental units, 2 shared ownership
- Orientated north-south to maximise solar gains. Simple building form, mono pitch roofs and solar shading.
