PHPP compatibility with BIM

The Passivhaus Institute (PHI) would like to evaluate the connection between Building Information Modelling (BIM) software and Passivhaus design tools, PHPP and designPH. In order to do so they are calling for example projects to check how project data (geometry, component qualities etc.) are presented in the BIM software or respective energy balance modules.

Building Information Modelling

If you have the following available, PHI would love to hear from you:

  • A very simple model and a more complex one (multifamily-housing / non-residential) upon which PHI could carry out some testing.

  • The project as a BIM-file for the respective software

  • The project as an IFC file, export specifications below

  • In a perfect world, there would also be a completed PHPP file

  • In wonderland, there would also be a designPH model (you can never ask for too much, right?)

Please indicate any other BIM-software you consider relevant in general, or specific to the UK, that are not listed below:

  • Autodesk Revit Architecture
  • Graphisoft ArchiCAD
  • Nemetschek Allplan Architecture
  • Nemetschek Vectorworks Architect
  • Bentley Architecture

If you have the relevant data available and would like to be involved, or have any queries, please contact PHI
