New Addition to the PHT Team

We are delighted to welcome John Palmer to the Passivhaus Trust delivery team. John joins us as a Research and Policy Director, working on the Passivhaus Trust's key development strategy & programmes. The new role will support numerous technical and educational events, alongside expanding the policy activities of the Trust and steering new campaigns.
John is a certified Passivhaus consultant, SAP Assessor, BREEAM Assessor, systems engineer and experienced project manager. As the Managing Director of Enhabit, he has led several Passivhaus projects and is currently in the process of building his own Passivhaus home.
In addition to his professional experience, John is an active proponent of neighbourhood planning and self-building. From 2012 to 2016 John led the Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan project team, liaising with the full suite of stakeholders in producing one of the most detailed and comprehensive neighbourhood plans in the country. One of the plan’s policies was to allocate land for self and custom-build homes and John is now involved in delivering these homes as a Town Councillor and Chairman of the Petersfield Community Land Trust.
We look forward to John applying his expertise and experience to help promote the Passivhaus Standard in the UK. Please be sure to say hi & welcome him at an upcoming event!

This is an important time for the Passivhaus standard in the UK. If we are to maintain momentum, we need to broaden Passivhaus understanding across the construction sector and work with stakeholders to make Passivhaus easier and cheaper to achieve. I am really excited to be joining the Passivhaus Trust team and have the opportunity to drive forward Passivhaus in the UK.
John Palmer, PHT Research and Policy Director
