Last chance to book: RIBA Plan of Work Masterclass

The Large & Complex Masterclass series continues on Wednesday 2 November 2022, looking at the new Passivhaus overlay for the RIBA Plan of Work.

Masterclass Large Complex RIBA Passivhaus Overlay

The RIBA Plan of Work organises the process of briefing, designing, constructing and operating building projects into eight stages and explains the stage outcomes, core tasks and information exchanges required at each stage. It is an especially useful tool for architects managing large & complex projects

The Masterclass will explore how the new Passivhaus overlay for the Plan of Works includes guidance on implementing Passivhaus through each RIBA stage. The guidance flags up that Passivhaus design encourages design teams to consider important aspects of design at an earlier stage than might otherwise be considered.

Topics covered in this 120-minute session include:

  • Introduction by RIBA

  • Introduction to the Passivhaus overlay

  • Managing procurement (appointing PH team, consultant, certifier, contractor)

  • Managing design/ airtightness

  • Managing construction/ sequencing
